Overview
PTE Academic is a single session, 2-hour test taken on a computer in a secure testing environment. The test is unique because it integrates skills, meaning it might test reading and speaking simultaneously. It is 100% machine-scored, which eliminates human bias. Results are typically delivered within 48 hours, making it the fastest option for candidates on tight deadlines. The test features 20 different question types ranging from multiple choice to essay writing.
Registration
Registration is done online via the Pearson PTE website. Candidates can book a test up to 24 hours in advance, provided a slot is available.

ID Requirements: A valid International Passport is required for candidates in India.
Registration Fee: In 2026, the standard fee in India is INR 17,000 (inclusive of taxes).
Late Booking: Extra charges may apply if booking within 48 hours of the test date.
